CFE's VIX futures gain traction


CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) hit a new volume record in its CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) futures last week, a sign that the contract had started to attract more investors.

The contract hit a new high on 10 October with 10,673 contracts traded, topping the previous record of 9,148 contracts set on 3 May while open interest stood at 55,202 contracts on 18 October, its highest level since the contract was launched in March 2004.
