TT patent court case hangs in the balance


The conclusion of a crucial part of the Trading Technologies (TT) patent case against five rival firms has left parties on both sides confident of eventual victory.

US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Judge James Moran concluded the Markman hearing portion of the case at the end of October, in which he provided legal definition to the key terms in the TT patents.

The Markman Hearing was designed to allow both TT and the defendents - Espeed, GL Trade, Rosenthal Collins Group, CQG and FuturePath - a chance to persuade the judge to consider their interpretation of various terms in the patents.
