Nymex Europe loses its head


The chief executive of New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex)'s European headquarters, Andy Gooch has quit the exchange after choosing not to renew his original one year contract.

Gooch's departure comes barely a month after Nymex decided to de-list as a European-listed operation after 16 months of poor activity (see FO Week Vol 12 No 4). Though Nymex said it intends to remain committed to its European office in London, using it to develop new products geared towards the European marketplace, the latest movements at the top have led some observers...
