Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will launch lean hog and live cattle futures on its electronic trading platform CME Globex. The contracts are to be launched on 12 March, complementing its existing, physically traded lean hog and live cattle futures.

Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) has set a number of volume and open interest records. The total exchange volume surpassed 11m for the first time, when 11.19m contracts were traded on 27 February, which exceeded the pervious record of 7,79m contracts. Trading in Metals also set a record trading volume in total metal futures and options traded, as 132,885 contracts were traded topping the pervious record of 115,590 contracts traded on 5 January. CBoT's daily 5000 Oz. Silver contract also reached new heights as the number of futures and options traded surpassed the pervious record of 14,900 on 26 February, when 15,197 contracts was traded.
