Trading volumes in April on Eurex increased by 24% year-on-year to 151m contracts while year-to-date 2007 volume reached 618m contracts for the first four months. Equity derivatives set a new record with a total of 53m contracts, an increase of approximately 50% year-on-year. Particularly strong growth was seen in single stock futures - trading volumes doubled to 11m contracts compared with the previous month. The Allianz equity option set a new monthly record with 6.7m contracts. Meanwhile, equity index derivatives were up by 77% year-on-year, totalling 49m contracts. Of these, the largest single products were futures and options on the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 with 18.5m futures and 17.6m options traded respectively.
