New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex)'s average daily volume in April was 1.39m contracts a day, a 23% increase from 1.14m contracts a day in the same period of 2006. Nymex electronic volume on the CME Globex electronic trading platform was 594,000 contracts a day, a 466% increase over the April 2006 electronic volume. Nymex floor-traded energy futures and options averaged 273,000 contracts a day for April 2007. Electronic trading volume on CME Globex averaged 95,000 contracts a day, a 400% increase over the April 2006 volume.

Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) set a number of open interest records in CBoT treasury products on 3 May, surpassing records set just one day prior.
