As FO Week went to press, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced it will invite members of Chicago Board of Trade to a meeting on 31 May to discuss the benefits of an ICE merger for CBoT shareholders, members, customers and employees. Jeff Sprecher, chairman and CEO of ICE, along with other members of ICE's senior management team, will meet with members and discuss details of the proposal.
At close of business on 23 May, total volume on Euronext Liffe's wholesale clearing service B-Clear this month stood at 13.46m contracts, beating the previous monthly record of 13.44m. Stock futures on B-Clear hit a record 9.48m contracts against last May's record of 9.45m.
