Bear Stearns has poached John Browning from rival Barclays Capital in order to set up its London Metal Exchange (LME) operations in Hong Kong. Browning, who was director of Barclays e-commerce division, has left the bank and will take up his new role at Bear Stearns in September. Initially Browning will be based in London before heading over to Hong Kong at the start of 2008. Browning will be joining up in London with former workmates Robert Rees and Steve Bingley who both worked beside him during his time at Dresder Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW).
