Eurex saw volumes slump by more than 10.3% in May recording a total of 156m contracts compared to 174m contracts 12 months earlier. The Bund remained the most heavily traded product at 26m contracts. The exchange set a daily trading record on 6 June of 15.47m contracts, surpassing the previous record of 15.40m contracts traded on 14 March.

Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) trading volume for May was 92.31m contracts establishing a record for total exchange volume and exceeding total volume from May 2006 by 16%. ADV during May was 4.19m contracts, an increase of 16% compared with May 2006. ADV on the Exchange's E-CBoT electronic trading platform was 3.35m contracts in May, a 31% increase over a year earlier.
