Bank changes heart
After alarming the industry with a shot across its bows last year, the Bank of England has backed down over proposed capital adequacy requirements for credit derivatives. Last November, the Bank proposed in a discussion paper that banks register credit default swaps - the most vanilla-flavoured credit derivative on the market - on their banking books, rather than trading books.
