CME Group’s July volume averaged 11.2m contracts per day, up 40% from July 2006, assuming CME and Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) volumes were combined for the full month. On this basis, total monthly volume exceeded 235m contracts. Electronic volume represented 79% of total exchange volume. Total options volume averaged 2.0m contracts per day, up 16% from July 2006. Electronic options volume averaged 348,000 contracts per day, up 69% from the same period a year ago, representing 19% of total CME Group options volume.
Eurex recorded trading volume during July of 162.4m contracts, a rise of 52% year on year, when 107m contracts were traded during July 2006.
