FCMs could leave CME Group if Liffe provides “credible” US contracts

A senior executive at one Liffe member firm has informed FO Week that he would be prepared to move open interest from CME Group if Liffes US arm provides a credible alternative marketplace.The source said that, for his business, the creation of CME Group was going to represent higher costs not higher efficiencies, especially as he believes there will be a charge for give-ups on contracts formerly traded at Chicago Board of Trade....
