Trading places


Liffe has appointed Garry Jones as executive director of business development and strategy with responsibility for marketing, sales, product development and strategy. Jones joins Liffe from Icap where he was most recently chief executive officer of its electronic broking in Europe. He was also CEO and president of BrokerTec Europe.
Prior to this Jones worked for almost 20 years in a variety of senior management roles in trading, sales and research for Investment Banks in the USA and Europe, focussing on the bond and derivatives markets, working for Bankers Trust, Merrill Lynch, Daiwa Securities and Banque Paribas. Liffe also promoted Fraser Cowie, previously executive director of marketing, to the position of executive director transatlantic business development. Cowie will lead the development and implementation of transatlantic business opportunities which have opened up as a result of the combination.
