CME Group set an options volume record on 10 August, when 4.28m contracts traded. The previous record was 4.15m traded on 8 August. Interest rate options set the pace with 3.88m options traded, overtaking the combined record of 3.83m options traded on 2 June 2006. Eurodollar options comprised the majority of 10 August activity with a record 3.49m options traded. This new record overtook the previous one of 3.26m set on 8 August. An additional interest rate product record was achieved in 30-year interest rate swap futures with 948 contracts traded.

Additionally, for a second consecutive day, mini-sized Dow Jones futures and options reached a new record of 367,130 contracts traded. The previous record, set on 9 August was 350,467 contracts.
