CME Group has recorded its one billionth contract traded on CME Globex, the exchange's electronic trading platform, in a single year, excluding non-traditional Trakers futures contracts. The milestone was reached during the trading session on 9 October. ADV for the year for products traded on CME Globex is 5.2m contracts, an increase of 38% over average daily volume traded electronically for 2006. For the year to date, 75% of CME products are traded electronically on CME Globex.

Open interest on pure terephthalic acid on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange hit a new high of 71,138 contracts on 10 October, exceeding the last record of 68,850 contracts set 26 September.
