Electronic trading system for Nymex and IPE
New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) and London’s International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) lat week announced a plan to develop a joint electronic trading system, after months of negotiations which also considered cross-margining and joint listings. Mike O’Donnell, evp of IPE’s operations division said the system will be based on IPE’s Energy Trading System and would be used for after-hours trading, using automatic matching on a first-in-first-out system.
