Trading volume during November at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has decreased 10.4% during November from levels recorded one year earlier. Despite a steady performance by futures products, which rose 2% in comparison, HKEX experienced a disappointing trading month. Options volume was the chief driver behind the decline as volume in these products declined 17.1% as 266,623 options were traded, far below the 321,668 options that were traded in November 2006. Total trading in futures totalled 179,553 surpassing total volume set in November 2006 of 176,107 contracts.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange reported strong growth in trading on its equity options. Volume rose 52.36% during November from levels set one-year prior. Total volume totalled 42.05m contracts surpassing the volume recorded in 2006 of 26.94m contracts.
