Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) recorded a new exchange-wide volume record on February 15. Trading peaked at 1.94m contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1.92m contracts set on September 6, 2007. ZCE also recorded a new daily trading volume record on February 19 in the exchanges white sugar futures. Trading totalled 1.64m contracts, exceeding the last record of 1.51m contracts set on February 15.
Hellenic Exchanges reported a 32.9m increase in profits as the group recorded strong growth in its derivatives business. Net profits after tax in 2007 amounted to 91m, surpassing the pervious profit recorded in 2006 of 58.1m, representing an increase by 57%. Revenues generated from trading in the cash market amounted to 34.8m in 2007, a decrease from the 39.4m for the previous year, a 12% reduction.
