Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) recorded a new exchange-wide volume record on February 15. Trading peaked at 1.94m contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1.92m contracts set on September 6, 2007. ZCE also recorded a new daily trading volume record on February 19 in the exchange’s white sugar futures. Trading totalled 1.64m contracts, exceeding the last record of 1.51m contracts set on February 15.

Hellenic Exchanges reported a €32.9m increase in profits as the group recorded strong growth in its derivatives business. Net profits after tax in 2007 amounted to €91m, surpassing the pervious profit recorded in 2006 of €58.1m, representing an increase by 57%. Revenues generated from trading in the cash market amounted to €34.8m in 2007, a decrease from the €39.4m for the previous year, a 12% reduction.
