LME sees healthy start to steel futures

London Metal Exchange (LME) saw the first week of its steel futures contract greeted with enthusiasm from the trading community with comparatively healthy volumes and a working infrastructure.

On the first day of the ‘soft launch’ of its steel billet futures contract on February 25, the exchange saw over $1m worth of trades pass through it with consistent volume being seen over the following days.
