Washington experts believe US federal legislation for a carbon market could begin to take further steps toward approval this summer.
Environmental attorney Bill Bumpers, a partner at Baker & Botts, told an audience at The Wall Street Green Trading Summit in New York on April 9, that the front-running Lieberman Warner climate bill in the US Senate is likely to go before the full Senate in June or July. The bill was approved the sub-committee of the senate Environmental Public Works Committee last November.
