Furse wades in to clearing debate

Clara Furse, the head of London Stock Exchange (LSE), is the latest to voice her opinion against the moving trend of UK exchanges towards a more vertical clearing silo structure. Despite claims that the increasing move away from LCH Clearnet, and other such independent clearinghouses, by the likes of Liffe and ICE Futures will reduce competition in the market LSE itself is reported to be renegotiating its own terms with LCH Clearnet.
