Sprecher and Freedberg fire back at Furse in public clearing spat

Jeff Sprecher, chairman and chief executive at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and Hugh Freedberg, chief executive at Liffe, have both strenuously refuted Cara Furse’s recent public criticism of both exchanges following their respective separation from LCH Clearnet.

The public spat follows a recent newspaper comment piece written by Cara Furse, the head of London Stock Exchange, which described the vertical silos of clearing as uncompetitive.
