Executive pay rises at exchanges and firms

Executive compensation at the top exchanges rose dramatically in 2007 with the largest pay increases coming at Nymex Holdings, a new report has said.
The paper, issued by Keefe Bruyette & Woods (KBW), said salary, cash bonuses, options and other compensation rose an average of 36% last year among executives of the top five exchanges, which included CME Group, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Nasdaq OMX, Nymex Holdings and NYSE Euronext.
Of those five exchanges, Nymex executives saw the largest percentage growth in compensation, jumping 64% in 2007, following a 71% rise in 2006. CME and ICE reported executive compensation growth of 39% while Nasdaq OMX rose 40%.
