Tokyo Grain Exchange has elected Yoshiaki Watanabe as chairman of the board. Watanabe was previously exchange chairman between 2004 and 2006 and had previously worked as advisor to the then Prime Minister, Junichiro Koizumi. Takeshi Kubota was elected as president of the board where he hopes to develop new futures contracts and firmly establish respectability for the futures industry.
