MF Global has appointed Bernie Dan as chief operating officer of the company’s North American businesses. He will assume responsibility for technology and operations including the control environment and overall administration for all MF Global’s North American operating entities. Dan will also join the company’s global executive management committee. Dan previously headed the Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) where he served as president and chief executive officer from November 2002 until July 2007 upon completion of the merger with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prior to joining the CBoT in 2001, He also served as president and chief executive officer of Cargill Investor Services.
