Trading places


Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (see story page 1) has unveiled its management structure ahead of its planned launch in 2009. Barry Cheung has been appointed chairman, while Thomas McMahon (pictured below) has been appointed president. Cheung was previously deputy chairman of Titan Petrochemical, the Hong Kong-listed subsidiary of a Singapore company, while McMahon was previously vice president and director of New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) Asia. Before joining Titan Petrochemical, Cheung also served as chief executive at both Camelot Asset Management and Fortune Oil. Cheung was previously a consultant with McKinsey & Company.
