Bursa Malaysia results hit by the global economy downturn


Bursa Malaysia has reported net profit of RM70.7m ($21.85m) for the half-year ended 30 June 2008 - a 48% decline.

The bourse’s derivatives segment performed relatively robustly throughout the period in comparison to the exchange’s equity products. Despite this, however, trading in the derivatives was down 7% during the period.
