Fears mount as curb on ‘naked’ shorting mooted


An emergency provision limiting so-called “naked” short selling of stock in 19 US companies for nine days starting on July 15 may be extended to 30 days, according to market talk.

If so this would push the rule past the July 29 options expiration date and so hurt stock and options traders’ positions.
