One of the most damaging if easiest to understand phenomena in markets is the domino effect.
Responsible for bubbles, crashes, runs on banks and the proliferation of unsuitably enormous vehicles on city streets, our humble financial services professionals have always been prone to crises of confidence and, as a result, stampede behaviour. The malaise has now also struck those usually unflappable (or they like to th ink so) gentlemen, UK politicians.
