Warsaw Stock Exchange launches sterling, Swissie futures


Warsaw Stock Exchange will start trading sterling and Swiss franc futures on Tuesday September 30, adding to its existing dollar and euro contracts.

Jaroslaw Ziebiec, head of financial instruments development at WSE in Warsaw, told Futures and Options Intelligence that introducing the new contracts was the next step in the exchange’s expansion into currency futures and a response to the rise in trading of the dollar and euro contracts.

“It was also a response to the interest raised by investors. New currency futures give them more opportunities and new instruments to trade – it makes our offer broader,” Ziebiec said.
