CBOE says September’s trading record will not stand for long


The Chicago Board Options Exchange has announced that September was its busiest month ever as 127.2m contracts changed hands, with an average daily volume of 6.1m options.

In a month of unprecedented volatility in the financial markets, CBOE’s September volume edged out the previous monthly record, set in July 2008, when 126.2m contracts were traded.
