Derivatives leaders keen to work with Obama but fear over-regulation


Whatever their political convictions, senior figures in the derivatives industry are facing the possibility of radical change after the election of Barack Obama as the next US president.

As Futures and Options Intelligence reported on Wednesday November 5, the new administration is likely to bring new heads of the main regulatory agencies such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission.

But the whole structure of regulation in the US was already up for grabs, and the election makes the outcome even more uncertain.
