Nasdaq OMX earns $60m after hedge loss but revenues grow strongly


Nasdaq OMX made net income after tax of $60.1m in the third quarter, down from $101.6m in the second quarter and $365m in the third quarter of 2007. But market services revenues, the exchange group’s core business, rose strongly, hitting $879.3m.

This figure was up from $694.1m in the quarter to June 2008 and $578.7m in the three months to October 2007. Total revenues were $1bn in the most recent quarter, though the other business lines (issuer service, market technology) grew little.
