DME bids for Oman future to be price benchmark via CME Globex

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange’s energy contracts, including its Oman Crude Oil future, will be available for trading on the CME Globex electronic platform, with a planned start date of February 2009.

The CME Group acquired a 25% stake in DME when it bought the New York Mercantile Exchange in August.

The Oman crude contract will join Nymex’s other benchmark oil contracts, the Light Sweet Crude Oil and much less traded Brent Crude Oil futures.
