CME Group has launched 26 electricity swap futures which will be available for trading from December 8 on ClearPort, the New York Mercantile Exchange’s electronic trading and clearing system for over-the-counter derivatives.
Nymex, now part of CME Group, will launch peak and off-peak electricity swap futures based on prices from PJM Interconnection, a company that coordinates electricity flow through several US states, serving more than 44m customers.
