Intellectual Property Exchange International to launch in Q2 2009


The Chicago-based Intellectual Property Exchange International has said it is on schedule to launch the first intellectual property exchange next year.

IPXI’s chief operations officer David Silverman told Futures and Options Intelligence, the exchange will open in the second quarter of 2009 with an auction-type platform for IP rights.

The exchange is also looking to launch futures on IP indexes on industry sectors and individual companies in the fourth quarter next year.

“The whole reason this exchange makes sense is that the value of a company resides in its intellectual property,” Silverman said....
