The European Climate Exchange continued its sustained growth as the carbon exchange said 2008 trading volumes rose 170% year-on-year.
The strong year was revealed by ECX as the exchange announced December trading totalled 189,743 contracts.
ECX cemented its position as the market leader in the carbon market as annual trading totalled 2.81m contracts.
