Nasdaq OMX offers options on index of bailed-out companies


Nasdaq OMX today launched options on its Government Relief Index. The Government Relief Index is an equally weighted index of the shares of 24 companies that have received a direct investment from the US government greater than $1bn.

The options are the first instrument available to trade on the index. The exchange is looking at other products, such as exchange-traded funds.
