ICE vows European CDS clearing will be ready by end of June


Intercontinental Exchange has confirmed its intention to launch a European central counterparty clearing solution for credit default swaps by the end of the first half of 2009.

Jeff Sprecher, chief executive of the Atlanta-based exchanges group, had said on February 13 that ICE would launch its European CDS clearing service “by the end of 2009” and “well in advance” of the platform proposed by LCH.Clearnet.
