Roger Liddell, chief executive of LCH.Clearnet, has said that if the clearing house were acquired by the consortium there would “need to be safeguards built in” to prevent an unfair deal for smaller users.
“Under any construct, there need to be safeguards built in,” Liddell said at the Mondo Visione exchange forum in London last week. “They are clearly required.”
LCH Clearnet is in considering an acquisition offer from a consortium composed of Icap and 12 other financial institutions, known as Project Lily.
