Eurex to list hurricane derivatives, expects increased appetite for catastrophe futures


Eurex plans to list binary hurricane futures on wind damage from June 29 making it the first European exchange to offer catastrophe derivatives. The new contracts will be available for three areas: the US nationwide; Florida; and the Gulf coast states. The contracts will be denominated in US dollars.
