Colombia to launch equity futures and internationalisation drive


Bolsa de Valores de Colombia will introduce single stock futures “in a month or two”, the president of the Colombian exchange told Futures and Options Intelligence.

Juan Pablo Córdoba, the president of BVC, said futures on shares of Ecopetrol, Colombia’s main oil company, and Bancolombia, the largest commercial bank, would be the first to be listed.

The exchange is also working on futures on the ColCap share index, but Córdoba said their introduction was “uncertain”.
