The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has told Intercontinental Exchange that it must provide the commission with greater execution data in order to keep its no- action letter, under which ICE Futures Europe is permitted to offer its energy contracts in the US for trade. The tightening of the CFTC’s oversight of ICE Futures Europe was unveiled as the US regulator and the UK’s Financial Services Authority announced that they are enhancing cooperation in the supervision of energy markets in an effort to limit speculation and market manipulation.
