US a laggard on climate, not an obstacle, says IPCC chief


Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said today that he “wouldn’t say the US was an obstacle but would say it is a laggard” on global climate change policy.

“Hopefully the US will get its act together,” he told journalists at a press briefing after his speech at the International Energy Association’s ministerial meeting in Paris on October 15. “If that’s the case I don’t see why we won’t get an agreement in Copenhagen.”...
