CME takes gold as collateral for trading


CME Group has started accepting gold as collateral for trades in all its products - the first time it has accepted a commodity as a margin deposit.

The service, which started on Monday October 19, allows CME Group’s clearing members to deposit up to $200m of the precious metal.
