Mathias quits SMX, exchange insists launch timetable unaffected


John Mathias has resigned as chief business officer at the Singapore Mercantile Exchange, less than a year after joining the soon-to-be-opened bourse.

A spokesperson for SMX in Singapore confirmed that Mathias had tendered his resignation with effect from October 15.

He had only joined the Financial Technologies-owned exchange in December 2008 after leaving Merrill Lynch, where he had most recently been global manager of listed derivatives markets.
