The best clearing house is not necessarily the cheapest, says Sprecher


Jeff Sprecher, chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, has said clearing houses with the best risk models may not necessarily be the cheapest. To avoid clearing houses competing on fees, he said, regulators should ensure risk management models used by central counterparties are sufficient.“Discipline will only come from the clearing house,” he warned, “and if the clearing house wants to make it a light touch regime, the market will probably ultimately accept it.”...
