Demand still strong as EEX carbon auctions enter second week


The European Energy Exchange held its second auction of European Union Emission Allowances in the spot market today, selling 300,000 permits at €12.71, with no major price discrepancies between the primary and secondary markets, the bourse said.

“It was at the bid price, which is quite good… it was oversubscribed five or six times,” said Tim Greenwood, head of customer relations at the EEX in Leipzig.
