European Commission revises ETS security guidelines following cyber attack
The European Commission will revise internet security guidelines following cyber attacks on the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) registries last week.
Fake emails asked the registries’ users to log on to a malicious website and enter their username and password. The Commission said that: “Some fraudulent transactions were carried out, but the security of the Community Registry and the Community Independent Transaction Log has not been compromised.”
