Exchanges’ market caps fall 10% from December to JanuaryThe FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index fell 10.2% month-on-month in January 2009, but was up 57.5% year-on-year.The index tracks the market capitalisation in dollars of 20 exchanges or exchange groups. The worst performers were Deutsche Börse, which fell by 20.6%, and Intercontinental Exchange, which lost 15%. The market capitalisation of most components fell and the only exceptions were Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, which rose 7.6%, and Hellenic Exchanges, which gained 3.1%.But the figures look a little better if compared with the same month a year ago.
